COWBOYS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Oklahoma State football has a rising national profile. Thanks to high win totals, a consistent presence in the national polls, a windfall of All-America selections, multiple first-round draft picks and nine bowl appearances over the last 10 years, the Cowboys have become a national presence in college football and continue to be a rising program.
The Cowboys have appeared on television 63 times during the Mike Gundy Era and graced two Sports Illustrated covers during the 2009 football season. In 2011, Oklahoma State was the national primetime ESPN/ABC game of the week nine times.
The 2012 season is fast approaching and no doubt the media attention for the Cowboys will be as high as ever. Oklahoma State games can be seen coast-to-coast, providing national attention to the program and its players.
OSU's weekly football news conferences are staffed by no fewer than 40 members of the media. That crowd has risen to as many as 70 at times over the past four seasons when the Cowboys were ringing up 41 victories and climbing as high as second in the polls last season.
ESPN College GameDay has made regular stops at Oklahoma State for football as well as men's basketball. In fact, the ESPNU network was launched during a weekend-long event at Oklahoma State.
